On Location
The greatest advantage to shooting on location is that you can choose somewhere that is special to you. You’ll be surprised what we can use as a backdrop, it doesn’t have to be a grand place, or even particularly beautiful. The key is for you to feel relaxed in a context you know well and are comfortable in.
I love working with different textured backgrounds and the challenge of ‘finding the light’ in a natural setting. I often bring along my vintage film camera (a Rolleicord) and shoot some black and white shots too, to give a different look to the proceedings.
